What is fostering?

Fostering is when an individual or family opens their home to provide support and care to cats or kittens. This provides a more stress-free and loving environment for the animals to thrive in while awaiting adoption. This is especially critical for those animals who are overwhelmed in an active environment such as at a shelter.

Why become a foster?

Becoming a foster parent for Chesapeake Feline Association can be rewarding for both the foster parent and the cats and kittens involved. Cats of all ages (bottle babies to adults) can be in need of a foster home to make them more comfortable around people, in home settings, and more adoptable!

Experienced foster volunteers also provide temporary care to cats and kittens who are recovering from illness or injury, or who need socialization support. With your help, you can help start their life on the right paw.
