Be a Guardian Angel

Our Guardian Angel program was established to help special need cats and kittens receive the care and attention they need before finding their new home. The program covers expenses associated with lab work, xrays, biopsies, dentals and other diagnostic tests and non-routine procedures. Through our Guardian Angel Program, cats and kittens are treated for various infections and diseases like chronic health issues, FIV, FeLV and upper respiratory, as well as treatment of injuries such as broken legs, torn ligaments, physical therapy and more.

CFA tries its best to insure many of our special needs cats and kittens can one day go to a forever home to be loved. We make sure they are in homes that can love and support special needs cats or kittens.

Some of these cats and kittens may need lifelong care and may never find the forever homes they need or long for due to the amount of care they require. They will spend the remainder of their days at our shelter in the loving care of our volunteers.

Donate to a specific cat that needs your help below, or make a general donation to the Guardian Angel Fund that will allow us to rescue and seek medical care for more injured and ill cats.

Leonora has been with CFA since 2014. She's a love bug, not to be confused with a lap cat though. But don't let that discourage you; she gives endless head bumps, cuddles next to you or sit next to you while you watch tv. She loves to talk to you and when you aren't watching she'll gaze at you as if she is letting you know how happy and how thankful she is to be in your home. If you call her by name, she comes to you and is spry for her age. She's not your average senior cat. She's ready to play and run around. She is the sweetest cat you will find and has so much love to give. If you have a home that is missing that little bit of love, Leonora will give you that missing love and a whole lot more. Miss Leonora has chronic upper respiratory problems, similar to a human cold

Linda has been with CFA since 2012. She was abandoned at our shelter, and has been in our care ever since. Linda is a sweet, outgoing lady. She is a social butterfly who doesn't know a stranger.  She loves being around people, playing with toys, sitting on laps and one of her favorite things is sharing your cereal milk! She is feline immunodeficiency positive but don't let that influence your decision as she is an all-around great cat. Please consider her for your forever kitty!

CFA note:  FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs. Linda lives with a foster, sharing the same litter boxes, food and water bowls as her cats. Recent studies show FIV is contagious to other cats only through a deep bite wound. Linda is a docile, non-aggressive lovable cat.

Pinot has been with CFA since 2010. Pino is a senior cat who has lived his life with CFA. He was rescued as a kitten who was severely ill. Pinot has lost his sight in one of his eyes, and is slowly losing sight in the other. As he begins to get older, he depends on the help of CFA volunteers to make his home more comfortable. Pino seems to be more susceptible to colds which are easily maintained. He loves people especially children although he may be a little shy if you come to him on his blind side. Don't let his sight fool you, he can smell a bag of treats a mile away and knows how to find them!
It you want a handsome guy you can dote on, then Pino is your guy!

Mario suffers from congestion/eye issues. He's prone to colds and has a forever weepy eye. We feel he would do much better in a home.  Mario loves to be held and sit on your shoulder, it makes him feel secure. He's very social and would be a great companion cat. He is a total baby when it comes to attention!

Please consider being Mario's Guardian Angel.
